Children aged — 7-9 years old
Language — We are looking for children who naturally think and express
themselves in English, with any type of accent.
Type — Any gender, race, culture, religious upbringing and socioeconomic
background is most welcome!
Characteristics — Outspoken, thoughtful, and enthusiastic about sharing
their lives and perspectives. Imaginative, articulate and opinionated.
Description — "Third culture children” — kids who have spent a significant
part of their development years outside their parents' home culture
(immigrants, diplomats, military personnel, international business
executives, missionaries, international educators, etc).

PLAYTOPIA is a documentary film directed by Czech-American filmmaker
Bara Jichova Tyson. Set in a large white studio, the film features a group of
children aged 8-10 creating two worlds: the world as it is today and the
future world. Through playful and creative activities, the children will discuss
topics like inequality, power, and societal structures, all while having fun
building their worlds. Although it dives into profound adult topics,
PLAYTOPIA remains playful, engaging, and fun for the kids involved.
SCOPE
As an international production (Cinepoint/Czech Republic, deFilm/Romania,
Vilda Bomben Film/Sweden, Pipser/Croatia and Incomplete Pictures/USA),
PLAYTOPIA will be showcased in cinemas and film festivals across Europe
and the USA
Spring 2025 — At-home self-tape filming of personal moments from their
lives.
One week in July 2025 — Studio Filming with eight selected children that will
engage in creative play and building activities over three days in a large
white studio in the Czech Republic or Sweden.
COMPENSATION Children and their parents will receive symbolic compensation for their
participation and time. All expenses, including travel and accommodation,
will be covered by production
